Well, this famous book o' fables is a collection of short stories, each illustrating a specific lesson, dating waaay back to the 5th Century BC.
Maybe you've heard of the wolf in sheep's clothing? Or the tortoise and the hare?
Another such tale, called: The Old Man, The Boy & The Donkey, serves as an example of a go-to MARKETING TECHNIQUE for best-selling author and speaker, Michael Port, which can be used for ALL businesses. And thanks to The Institute For Integrative Nutrition, I was introduced to this concept at #IINLive Conference, where he spoke.
The Man, The Boy & The Donkey
An man, a boy, and a donkey were going to town. The boy rode the donkey and the old man walked beside him. As they went along they passed some people who remarked that it was a shame that the old man was walking and the boy was riding. The man and the boy considered the critics' point of view and changed positions.
Later, a group of people remark that it is a shame for the boy to walk. And so, they both decide to walk.
Soon they passed more people who thought they were stupid to walk when they could ride the donkey. So, they both rode the donkey.
Finally, they passed some people who remarked how cruel it was to put such a heavy load on the poor donkey. And so, the man and the boy chose to carry the donkey.
BUT, as they crossed the bridge, the donkey slipped out of their hands and into the river below where he drowned...
MORAL of the Story:
If you try to please EVERYONE, you might as well kiss your ass goodbye.
You can please some of the people ALL of the time, and all of the people SOME of the time, BUT you can't please all of the people all the time. <<--- Sound familiar? Jammin'... (video)
