falls on Wednesday, April 22nd, 2015, although New Yorkers can celebrate ALL WEEK LONG... starting on Sunday, April 19th from 12:00pm to 7:00pm in Union Square. {See event details below}

1. What is your favorite quote?

2. What are your TOP 5 favorite things in your life right now?

In no particular order...

1) My work with a wide range of organizations dedicated to sustainability.
2) My friends and family.
3) The coming spring/summer. 
4) Living in New York City.
5) Upcoming travel. 



3. Who are your mentors?

The entrepreneurial people I know and work with who are charting out their own paths for themselves in both work and life.

4. What is NEW + GOOD in your life?

The exciting time we find ourselves in at the 25th Anniversary of Earth Day New York 
and we transition into our plans for the future of the organization.

5. What advice would you give to all your fans out there? 







Do what you love both in work and life. 

And pay attention to the ingredients that make humans happy: friends, physical activity, healthy food, sunshine etc.

John Oppermann's Official Bio

John is Executive Director of Earth day New York. John manages the breadth of Earth Day New York's Activities, from its annual Earth Day events to its year-round programs, which include a classroom gardens program and a sustainable food toolkit aimed at high school students. Prior to joining Earth Day New York, John worked in both corporate law and energy and climate change policy. He has published his work on Latin America's role in global deforestation talks. John graduated with a B.S. in International Politics from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.
