The Easter bunny's hopping into a yard near you tomorrow and if he knows what's good for ya, he'll hide some healthy candy! Here are some healthylicious candy alternatives for you and your kiddies:
1) Dark Chocolate Easter Bunny - If you're gonna go for chocolate, at lest go for dark chocolate. Dark chocolate, unlike milk chocolate, is an antioxidant. Antioxidants protect your body from free radicals that damage cells, leading to inflamation many degenerative diseases.
2) Dried Fruit - Cranberries, Raisins, Apricots, Dates, Prunes (dried plums), Figs, Peaches, Apples etc.
3) Trail Mix - Make your own out of a variety of nuts, dried fruit, and dark chocolate chips or go to your local health food store and buy some. (I like the Navitas Naturals Organic Raw Trail Mix). Put them in a plastic baggie and tie them up with a colorful ribbon.
