I Have A Dream... That We Can Overcome Chronic Disease

I have a dream that I can continue to help people all over the world to overcome their health problems through nutrition and lifestyle changes.... On August 28th, 1963, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. told America his dream of racial equality in America. Dr. King said: "I can see nothing more urgent than for America to work passionately and unrelentingly - to get rid of the disease of racism."  This quote applies to the current state of affairs with the chronic disease epidemic that is attacking America today. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Chronic diseases - such as heart disease, cancer, diabetes - are the leading causes of death and disability in the United States. Chronic disease account for 70% of all deaths in the U.S., which is almost 1.7 million each year. These diseases also cause major limitations for almost 1 out of 10 Americans or about 25 million people.

We need to work passionately and unrelentingly - to get rid of (chronic) disease in America and throughout the world. Through proper education and adequate support from a healthcare professional, I believe that people who are suffering from chronic diseases can properly manage and even overcome them in some instances. But, we need our government to get behind the idea of of preventative healthcare. Who's on board?
