Harvest Moon TONIGHT + Your Guide to Seasonal Fall Foods

The full Harvest Moon is on the rise tonight! The pumpkin colored moon is the full moon that occurs closest to the Autumnal Equinox, marking the changing of the seasons from Summer to Fall. Set a reminder on your smartphone: moonrise occurs at 6:11pm ET tonight, Saturday, September 29th.

Before the days of electricity reliance, the Harvest Moon allowed farmers to work late into the night collecting early-autumn crops before they rotted. Follow in the footsteps of the old school farmers and save money and feed your body nutritious food by eating seasonally. The seasonality of food refers to the times of the year when a certain food is at its peak, when it is cheapest AND freshest.
